John Stoddart

Philadelphia native, John Stoddart, is unquestionably one of the music industry's most notable young talents. An accomplished artist, composer, writer, composer and instrumentalist, John grew up in a musical family and was singing and playing the piano in church almost as soon as he could walk. He began formal training at the age of 13 and, in 1993, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Piano and Voice from Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, Maryland.

John started his own production company, Urban Junction East Music, in 1992 and his singing/producing/arranging/writing credits already include Celine Dion, Wintley Phipps, Sandi Patty, Boney James, Al Jarreau, Darin Atwater and the Soulful Symphony, Will Downing, Take 6, and Patti Austin, to name a few. His production collaborations with saxophonist Kirk Whalum, "Hymns, In the Garden" and “The Christmas Message” (Top Drawer/Warner Bros.) both garnered Grammy nominations for "Best Pop Instrumental Performance". His composition, “I Still Believe” featuring Michael McDonald, was a featured single on the Grammy Award winning Just Chillin’ by Guitarist Norman Brown. Feature projects and appearances include the Prayer Services for Presidents William Jefferson Clinton and George W. Bush; HBO Inaugural Special - “God Bless America” arrangement performed by Diana Ross; the Pre-Grammy Gospel Extravaganza, the Stellar Awards, the Dove Awards and the Trumpet Awards; The Quincy Jones/MTV “We Are the Future” concert in Rome, Italy to benefit the children in war-torn countries.

John is currently in production of the much-anticipated follow-up recording of his sophomore recording, Wings to Walk This Road, writing to the provocative title/theme, "Be Who You Say You Are". His debut recording, Love So Real, the pensive solo piano recording, Sweet, and other solo and collaborative projects continue to garner attention from industry icons and music lovers all over the world. Now based in Alabama, John remains active as a recording artist, music producer, educator, singer/songwriter, husband to his wife, Helen, and father to their daughters, Analise and Anya-Noelle.
